President Donald Trump said he “recommends” the imposition of 50% tariffs on European Union goods, which are being imported into the United States.

“Our discussions with them don’t go anywhere!” He said in a social media publication on Friday.

The announcement marks the escalation of Trump’s trade war with the EU, which has already been affected by a 20% tariff blanket for all of the US exports.

The president has also threatened to impose a 25% tax on the iPhone imports that are not manufactured in America.
