US President Donald Trump has warned Iran that he will face “severe” consequences if Jotis of Yemen continued to attack international shipping sails.
He said that the Iranian leadership will be considered from now on by pulling the trigger for “every shot fired by Huti”, which has long been supported by Tehran.
Trump’s threat came after Hutis headed for an American aircraft carrier in the Red Sea after US blows to Yemen, which her health ministry said she had killed at least 53 people.
The Pentagon said he has achieved 30 goals in Yemen since Saturday, in the largest US military operation in the Middle East, as Trump returned to the White House.
Trump has published on his social platform for the truth on Monday: “Every shot fired by the Hutiists will be considered from that moment on, as a shot fired from Iran’s weapons and management.
“And Iran will be responsible and will suffer the consequences, and these consequences will be terrible!”
The US president has accused Iran of providing the group with funding, weapons and intelligence that Tehran denies.
In a letter on Monday to the UN Security Council, the UN Iranian envoy denied that he was in violation of the UN embargo for weapons in Yemen and said he did not participate in destabilizing activities in the region.
Ambassador Amir Sayid Iravani has accused the United States of “unfounded charges” against Iran, Reuters reported.
At a briefing on Monday, Pentagon staff said US attacks on Yemen were aimed at a broader range of goals than strikes allowed by former President Joe Biden.
LT Gen Alex Grinkevic said Houthi drone manufacturers are among the targets.
He added that there were no “credible indications of civilian victims”.
Washington said some key figures of Huti are among the dead, although the group has not confirmed this.
Pentagon spokesman Sean Parnell said the United States is not looking for a change in the regime.
“This campaign will be ruthless to impair their ability and open shipping sails in the region and protect our country,” he said.
On Sunday morning, Hutiis released drones and missiles aimed at the USS Harry S Truman aircraft in the Red Sea.
US fighter jets are downloading about 11 of the drones, an US BBC US partner said CBS.
The Hutis also fired a ballistic rocket that crashed into the water, much less than the USS Harry S Truman, the official employee added.
Hutiis said at least five children were among 53 people killed in the US air strikes in the Yemen regions in Al Jauf and Hudaida, the victims that the BBC did not check independently.
The United States also launched AirsiSikes against the group on Saturday and Sunday.
Hutiis said they would continue to target the shipping of the Red Sea until Israel lifted its blockade to the gas.
The group claims – often false – that they are only aimed at ships related to Israel, the United States or the United Kingdom in the Red Sea and the Gulf of Aden.
Since November 2023, Hutis sank two ships, seized a third and killed four crew members.
The group controls Sana and northwestern from Yemen, but this is not an internationally recognized government of the country.
