Along the campaign trail last year, Donald Trump promised that he would not tolerate the left lawlessness on the US streets and would use the full power of his presidential powers in response.

Protests against Immigration and Customs Implementation efforts (ICE) in California on Saturday night gave him an discovery that would follow that promise.

It doesn’t matter that the Los Angeles Police Department (LAPD) said the protests are largely peaceful or that those who are more destructive have included only a few hundred individuals.

Trump administration officials said immigration agents were directed and injured – and that local law enforcement authorities were too slow to respond.

“In anticipation of a few hours, Lapd to show – or they tell us that they will not support us until they have an officer in a dangerous situation – is something that is simply not working when you have violent protests, premises,” Interior Security Minister Kirsti Novs told CBS News on Sunday morning.

LAPD said “it acted as fast as the conditions that are safe” and began to scatter the crowds within 55 minutes after receiving the call.

Above the objection of California Gavrny Gavin Newo, Trump Federalizes 2,000 soldiers of the California National Guard, and Defense Minister Pete Heget warned that US Marines are also on a “high signal” to unfold – which will rarely use the use of the active military.

By Sunday morning, Trump announced a victory and thanked the National Guard for the restoration of peace, although the guard had not yet fully collected.

The speed at which Trump reacts suggests that this is a struggle that his administration is prepared for – and even eager to have.

The White House believes that the law and order and aggressive implementation of immigration earn questions about it.

His actions will excite his main base of supporters and could sway politically independent, concerned about public safety.

In his interview, he said the 2020 Black Lives Matters protests in Minnesota were allowed to be distributed without a check – and that the new Trump administration would handle things differently.

“We will not leave a repetition of 2020,” she said.

However, Democrats said the use of the masked immigration officers with military equipment to arrest civilians in restaurants and shops is inflammatory and that the president’s desire to have trained soldiers is unjustified.

“For the president to do this when it was not requested, crashing with generations of tradition, it will only incite the situation and make things worse,” said New Jersey Senator Corey Booker.

“Many of these peaceful protests are generated because the President of the United States sows chaos and confusion, arresting people who appear for their immigration hearing that is trying to obey the law.”

The United States has a long tradition of summer protests and this is only in early June.

Five months after Trump’s second term, these California demonstrations may be an isolated event – or the beginning of more civil excitement in the coming days.
