Turkey’s first lady called on Melania Trump to talk about children suffering from Israel’s war in Gaza.
Emin Erdogan praised the support of the first lady of the United States for children affected by the full -scale invasion of Russia in Ukraine, asking Trump to “expand the intercession” of the Palestinians.
In a letter published by the Turkish Presidency on Saturday, Da -Erdogan said Gaza became “” Children’s Cemetery “, telling D -Ja Trump:” We must unite our votes and power against this injustice. “
Comes as Food security experts have estimated half a million people suffer from starvation in Gaza – and 132,000 children’s life are at risk of malnutrition.
“The phrase” Unknown Baby “, written to thousands of children from Gazan, opens irreparable wounds in our conscience,” writes G -Erdogan.
The letter calls on Da Trump to “show the same sensitivity to the gas you showed to Ukrainian children who lost their lives in the war.”
Erdogan also encouraged Dj Trump to turn directly to Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu to “end the humanitarian crisis in Gaza.”
The Turkish first lady is usually not involved in politics, often chooses to be active in environmental issues – which has won praise from UN Secretary -General Antonio Guteres.
But Da Erdogan wrote letters to the partners of the world leaders in the past, in 2016 on behalf of the Syrians caught in the Civil War and condemned Israel’s actions in Gaza in March.
The letter has been published after a Drase Report on Gaza’s Humanitarian SituationS
The Integrated Food Security Phase (IPC) report has confirmed hunger in and around the city of Gaza – warning that more than 640,000 people will face “catastrophic conditions” between mid -August and late September.
In the Friday report, the IPC noted that the specific shortage of road fees has acquired children – approximately one in three in gas are acute malnourished.
He also designed that by June 2026, malnutrition would endanger the lives of 132,000 children under the age of five.
Hamas’s health ministry said that 112 of the 273 people who died of malnutrition were children.
Israel denies that there is hunger in Gaza. He also accuses IPC experts of being prejudiced, changing their hunger evaluation methods and using data coming from Hamas. IPC has rejected this criticism.
The report comes when Israel is preparing to launch a new military offensive aimed at occupying the city of Gaza.
The Israeli military launched a campaign in Gaza in response to an attack led by Hamas against southern Israel on October 7, 2023, which killed about 1,200 people and 251 others were hostage.
Since then, at least 62 122 people have been killed in Gaza, according to the health ministry in the territory.
The greater part of the gas population has also been replaced repeatedly; More than 90% of homes are estimated to be damaged or destroyed; And health, water, sanitary and hygiene systems collapsed.
