Russia says it has removed 221 Ukrainian drones launched overnight, in one of the largest air attacks since May.

More than half of the drones were captured in the regions of Bryansk and Smolensk, southwest of Moscow, where it is reported that Lukol’s facilities were directed, the Ministry of Defense said.

Authorities in the Leningrad region have said that 28 drones have been removed and that a fire broke out on a ship in the port of Baltic port Primorsk, the largest oil terminal in Russia. They added that the blast was extinguished without victims or leaks.

In the meantime, employees said two civilians were killed in the area of Ukraine in sums when a Russian sliding bomb hit a village near the border.

At least nine other regions of Russia, including Kaluga, Novgorod and Moscow, has been reported, where nine drones are said to have been destroyed. The debris is recorded in several areas, although Russian officials insist that there are no casualties.

Seven people, including five civilians and two troops, were injured when a drone hit a bus in Bryansk, said region governor Alexander the Bog.

Moscow’s numbers that the BBC failed to check independently are suggesting that the Thursday night attack was one of the largest Ukrainian air bombing for more than four months.

Russia said it destroyed a record 524 drones on May 7. For comparison, Ukrainian officials said Russia has deployed 818 drones against their territory in recent weeks.

The air attack is described as one of the most significant in the Leningrad region after the full-scale invasion of Russia in Ukraine three and a half years ago. The attack saw operations at St. Petersburg airport in temporary braking.

The cross-border raids of drones are becoming an increasingly important feature of war. During July a stable Ukrainian drone attack forced Temporary closing all airports in MoscowS

In recent months, Ukrainian strikes have reached deeper in Russian territory, hitting refineries, fuel depots and logistics centers hundreds of miles from the front lines.

Moscow has strengthened its rocket and drones attacks against Ukrainian cities and energy facilities in the summer as an effort led by the United States to reach a peace agreement.

The attacks came out before a major joint military exercise between Russia and Ali Belarus on Friday, organized every four years.

But this time this is done only days after a number of Russian drones were removed or fell on Poland, in what Warsaw called an unprecedented invasion of its airspace.
