With the implementation of tariffs under the UK Online Protection Act (OSA) on Monday to address illegal content, Internet Watchdog, says it has launched a new enforcement program by focusing on online storage and file division services.

The regulator states that its evidence shows that file-storage services are “especially sensitive” to be used to sharing image-based child sexual abuse (CSAM). The Application program The security measures they kept to prevent criminals from promoting CSAM in their services will evaluate.

Offcom has added that it wrote “in a number” of these services without names for those involved. It has put them in the notice that they will soon send “formal information requests” about the steps they already apply or have planned to implement CSAM. This will ask them to submit the risk evaluation of illegal damage.

Failure to comply with the OSA up to 10% of the global annual turnover – may be a big fine.
