Qatari Prime Minister Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman al -Thani told the advice that Israel was “led by stormy extremists”

The United Nations Security Council has condemned Israel’s strikes on a residential compound in the Qatar capital Doha, aimed at senior Hamas members.

The statement – which was not directly indicated by Israel – was supported by all 15 members of the Security Council, including the United States, which has traditionally blocked the actions against its nearby ally.

“Members of the Council emphasized the importance of de -escalation and expressed their solidarity with Qatar,” read the statement prepared by the United Kingdom and France. Israel defended its decision to install the attack.

Qatar played a key role in the mediation of diplomatic efforts to end the Israeli war, serving as an intermediary of indirect negotiations between Hamas and Israel.

He has hosted the Hamas Political Bureau since 2012 and is a close ally in the United States, hosting a large US airbase in the desert southwest of Doha.

The emergency meeting was requested by Qatar, Algeria, Pakistan and Somalia. Qatar Prime Minister Mohammed bin Abdulrahman al -Thani travels to New York to attend.

“This attack puts the international community before the test,” Al Thani told the Council.

“Israel, led by hitting extremists, exceeds any limits, any restrictions on behavior. We are not able to predict what Israel will do. How can we host Israeli representatives when they committed this attack?”

Pakistan’s ambassador Asim Iphtiiki Ahmad said: “It is obvious that Israel, the occupation power, leaned down to do everything to undermine and blow every opportunity for peace.”

Meanwhile, Algeria’s Ambassador Amar Benjama said the Security Council remains “limited” because “he is unable to even name the aggressor, qualify aggression as a violation of international law.”

Israel’s representative Danny Danon defended the attack, saying at the meeting: “This blow sends a message that must echo in this chamber. There is no sanctuary for the terrorists, not in Gaza, not in Tehran, not in Doha.”

In order to issue a statement by the Security Council, all 15 members must refuse the text. The US has long blocked statements critical of Israel – by supporting the one, though Israel is not called, remarkable.

US President Donald Trump Earlier criticized Israel’s strikesWriting this unilaterally striking inside of Qatar “does not progress to Israel or the goals of America.”

However, he added that “this unfortunate incident can serve as an opportunity for peace” and that the removal of Hamas is a “worthy goal”.

Doha’s strikes have shocked many in the region, who have long suggested that close relations with the United States would offer security.

In May, Trump announced a “historic” economic agreement signed between Qatar and the United States that he said at least $ 1.2 trillion (890 billion pounds) had been estimated.

Qatar also recently gave Trump a plane – worth $ 400 million – as an “unconditional gift” that will be used as the new Air Force, the official aircraft of the US president.

On Friday, the United Arab Emirates (UAE) called the Deputy Ambassador of the Israeli strike on Doha, as well as what he described as “hostile and unacceptable” remarks of Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu.

The UAE normalizes diplomatic relations with Israel under the address of Abraham in 2020, an agreement brokered in the United States, which has led to cooperation on a number of issues from security to the economy.

The agreements, which were also signed by Morocco, Bahrain and Sudan, are widely regarded as one of Donald Trump’s main foreign policy achievements from his first term.

Hamas said that Her negotiation team survived Israel’s strikes Doha on Tuesday, but these five of his members were killed, including the son of the chief negotiator of the group Khalil Al-Haya. A Qatar security officer was also killed.
