US-MEXICO border wall to be painted in black to deter migrants

The entire US-Mexico border wall will be painted in black to make it hotter and more difficult to climb, said Interior Security Minister Christie Nov, lending to Donald Trump’s idea.

While internal detainees and deportations were the main focus of the current immigration repression, Trump’s bill has also adopted $ 46 million (34 million pounds) for additional wall construction this summer.

About half a mile (0.8 km) wall rises every day about 2000 miles (3.218 km) border, according to NOEM.

The number of border crossings has declined in recent months, and the Trump administration says that the replacement arrests and detainees act as a deterrent for illegal migration.

Speaking to reporters along part of the border in New Mexico, November said on Tuesday that black paint was “specifically at the president’s request”.

“(He) realizes that at hot temperatures here, when something is painted in black, it becomes even more warm and this will make it difficult for people to climb even more difficult,” she added.

Border patrol staff also say that black paint will help prevent rust on the wall.

In addition, November said the administration plans to install more “water infrastructure” along the Rio Grande, which represents more than half of the border between the two countries.

While Noem did not provide more details about these projects, Texas authorities have previously installed floating barriers – large orange buoys – and fortified fences on a river, guarded by state troops, local police officers and the National Guard of Texas along the parts of the river.

The passage and retention of undocumented immigrants have declined since Trump returned to the office, with record low levels of 4600 and 6000 in June-92% in June in June.

During the Biden administration, detention has sometimes suggested up to an average of 6000 per day.

Earlier in August, Nov said a total of 1.6 million undocumented immigrants left the United States during the first 200 days of Trump’s administration, although it did not specify how much they were deported and how much left alone.

White House press secretary Carolyn Levitt said earlier in August that a total of 300,000 undocumented immigrants had been detained in the interior of the United States since January.

While the administration continues to say that it is prioritizing those with criminal history, immigration defenders have warned that many without criminal charges or only small violations have been caught in the struggle.

White House employees also claim that increased border security and mass deportations are deterrent, stating that they are the main reason for reducing the numbers at the US -Mexico border.
