New York authorities are investigating the place where the Mexican sailing ship hit the Brooklyn Bridge for clues about how the fatal clash happened.

Two on board were killed and at least 19 others were injured when the Mexican fleet’s training ship crashed into the bridge on Saturday night.

Police said early investigations show that the ship lost the power line before the collision. Video showed that the three tall masts of the ship were collapsing while horrified viewers viewed from the shore.

It is unclear how the ship approached the bridge, which the authorities confirmed that it was not damaged by the strike. It opened again for traffic late on Saturday.

Police said the Cuauhtémoc ship had a mast height of 48.2 m (158 feet), while the bridge had 41.1 m (135 feet) permission at its center, according to the New York Transport Department website.

Respondents were able to remove at least 27 people from the treatment ship, while all 277 people on the ship were reported, fire authorities said in New York.

The ship lost all three masts and was moved to a nearby investigation.

The National Transport Safety Council has said it is sending a team to help the US coastal security in the investigation, which is coordinated between the US and Mexico governments.

The Navy Secretary at Mexico Ramundo Pedro Morales Angels said in a statement that the results of each investigation will be followed by “complete transparency and responsibility”.

Cuauhtémoc left Acapulco, Mexico, on April 6th on a tour that included stops in New York and Aberdeen, Scotland, for the high -ship high -ship competition in July.
