President Donald Trump will attend the US Open Singles Singles final on Sunday in what will be his first visit to the 2015 Grand Slam tennis event.
Trump, who was re -elected in 2024 for a second term of office, was not at the New York tournament, as he first came to power in 2016.
Previously, he visited Flushing Meadows several times before joining his wife Melania at his last visit a decade ago.
A White House employee has confirmed to the BBC that the president is expected to attend.
In 2015, Trump was greeted by the American six -time chief champion John Mackenroe as he was looking from an area of hospitality.
The 79 -year -old Trump was born in the Queens area in New York, where the Grand Slam tournament takes place.
No American players will compete in the men’s final, which starts at 14:00 (19:00 BST) on Sunday.
The finalists will be resolved by the last four matches on Friday, when Serbia Novak Djokovic plays Carlos Alkaraz, followed by Italy Yanik Sinner against Canada Felix Aliasm.
