Us to impose sanctions on Palestinian organizations

The United States is said to have imposed sanctions on the Palestinian Self -Government Organization, as well as the body that represents it on the international stage.

The sanctions affect both the Palestinian power (PA), which was established by the peace agreements in Oslo and by the Palestin Liberation Organization (PLO), which was recognized after the same process as the official representative of the Palestinian people in exchange for recognizing Israel and abandoned violence.

The State Department said it would refuse visas to PLO members and PA employees.

The time and language of the statement suggest that this is the answer of the Trump administration this week, led by French Saudi, in the United Nations organization, held for a rally support for a future two state decision.

The meeting came as France, the United Kingdom and Canada committed to recognizing an independent, demilitarized Palestinian state later this year, in some cases in some cases.

The United States has cast these moves, warning privately about diplomatic consequences if those who attend the UN Conference made “anti -Israel” declarations.

In its sanctions announcement, the State Department also accused the PA of taking action to “internationalize its conflict with Israel, such as through the International Criminal Court (ICC) and the International Court of Justice (ICJ)”.

He also refers to a series of years of complaints from the US and Israel that PLO and PA continue to “support terrorism, including incitement and glorification of violence (especially in textbooks) and providing payments and benefits to support the terrorism of Palestinian terrorists and their families.”

The Trump administration this year has canceled sanctions against violent Israeli settlers who killed the Palestinians of the occupied West Coast.

A leading Palestinian politician has defined a sanctions as a “revenge” from the United States for commitments to recognize Palestinian statehood by an increasing number of countries.

The BCP seems to be echoing that the moods in a statement posted on Thursday.

“These campaigns are sausage in response to the significant and consistent achievements of Palestinian diplomacy,” the statement said.

“Especially the latest confessions of Palestine from key countries, the successful conference of the United Nations in New York and the historical declaration issued therein.”

Mustafa Bargutti, the founder of the Palestinian National Initiative (PNI), which is part of the PLO, said the United States is targeting the wrong country.

He told the BBC: “The Trump Administration, instead of punishing the criminals who commit war crimes in Gaza and on the West coast, which is Israel, instead, to punish the victim who is the Palestinian people.”

Israel welcomed the sanctions and thanked US Secretary of State Marco Rubio for imposing them.

“This important action of (President Trump) and its administration also exposes the moral distortions of certain countries that ran to recognize a virtual Palestinian state as they close their eyes to support for terror and incitement,” said the Minister of Appearance Gideon Sa’ar.

The BCP has always rejected complaints about “salaries”, saying that payments are scholarships for the families of all Palestinian prisoners held under the military occupation of Israel, many of whom do not receive any proper process and are in violation of the Fourth Geneva Convention.

The Palestinians see all those detained by Israel and in prison by their military courts, which have a 99 percent sentence as political prisoners. French employees said last week the BCP expressed its desire to terminate these payments in response to France’s commitment to recognize a Palestinian state.

This week, the UN Conference further isolates the US in support of the way Israel continued the Gaza war that many countries criticized at the meeting.

The conference has set out a strategic vacuum left by Washington, which has traditionally led diplomatic efforts to a long-term lasting peace between Israelis and Palestinians.

The prohibition of the journey of Palestinian officials may be intended as a more limited wide country by the full range of financial sanctions. This is already a complex and long process for BCP and PPO employees to receive visas to travel to the United States, requiring special releases that are rarely given.

It is not yet clear whether this move will affect all employees working for the Palestinian mission to the United Nations organization in New York. The current Palestinian ambassador to the UN and his deputy are like US citizens.
