French prosecutors have opened an investigation into the Australian video platform that launches over the death of a content creator during live stream.

Raphaël Graven – also known as Jean Pormanove – was found dead in a residence near the town of Nice last week.

He was known for videos in which he endured obvious violence and humiliation.

The Paris prosecutor said the investigation would look at if Kick deliberately broadcasts “videos of deliberate attacks against personal integrity.”

A Kick spokesman said the company was aware of the investigation and adopted legal advice.

“We remain fully committed to collaborating with the relevant bodies with a current investigation,” they added.

The prosecutor’s investigation will also strive to determine whether Kick complies with the European Union Digital Services Act and the obligation of platforms to notify the authorities if people’s life or safety are in question.

In a separate message, French Digital Affairs Minister Clara Chapaz said the government would sue the “negligence” platform for its inability to block “dangerous content”, according to the AFP News agency.

G -n Greyden was found dead on August 18th.

Local media reported that the 46-year-old was the subject of attacks of violence and sleep deprivation during streams and died in his sleep during live broadcast.

In the next day’s publication, Chapaz described his death as “absolute horror” and said he had been humiliated and abused by the platform for months.

Post death committed later the same week revealed that the death of G -n Graiden had been is not the result of trauma or the actions of a third party.

Local police seized videos and interviewed a number of people who say they were present when he died.

They also revealed that G -n Greyden had previously been talked about by detectives and “firmly denied” to be a victim of violence, saying that the actions he participated in were put to “make buzz” and make money.

Kick is a Twitch -like platform and users can broadcast content and interact with other users in real time.

“We are deeply saddened by the loss of Jean Pormanov and we are expanding our condolences to his family, friends and community,” a previous statement said.

The guidelines of the platform were “intended to protect the creators” and the kick was “committed to maintaining these standards in our platform,” the spokesman added.
