Virginia Jufre’s lifting death leaves questions unanswered

The death of Virginia Jufre will leave questions that are now likely to remain unanswered.

Her name will always be related to the scandals and crime around the late sexual criminal of the billionaire Jeffrey Epstein and his circle -with Gi Jufre one of the most famous of his prosecutors, revealing the traffic and sexual exploitation of young women.

The photo of her and Prince Andrew, taken in London in 2001, became emblematic of the king’s entanglement with Epstein and was central to her catastrophic interview with Newsnight in 2019.

The origin of the picture remains uncertain. But the death of d -Ja Giuffre adds another layer to the mystery of what needs to be inadvertent to become one of the broadest photographs viewed in royal history.

Epstein – who was said to have taken the photo – died in prison, facing allegations of sex trafficking.

Ghislaine Maxwell – which helped him abuse young girls and is represented to the right by Prince Andrew and Gi Giuffre – is in prison in the United States. Prince Andrew withdrew from all public obligations. And Virginia Jufre, a smiling teenager in the photo, is already dead.

G -Giuffre – who was born in the United States – died of suicide on her farm in Western Australia at the age of 41, her family announced on Friday.

Prince Andrew always categorically denied any misconduct, including D -Jufre.

They reached an out -of -court agreement in 2022, in which Prince Andrew pay undisclosed amount of moneyS

A statement with the agreement regretted it – but does not contain recognition of responsibility or apology. Prince Andrew has always denied all the accusations against him.

Prince Andrew’s prospect of confronting the New York hearing was prevented by the agreement, but it was a huge problem for the royal family, and Prince Andrew was quickly removed from all official public roles.

His reputation has never recovered.

At this stage, there is still a lot that is not known in the last days or its personal circumstances of G -Ja Giuffre.

But as her family said, as a young woman, she had the strength to face a toxic combination of power, money and privileges in the circle around Epstein who sexually used so many girls.

There will be suspicions that Epstein’s long shadow of wealth and influence has indirectly claimed another victim.
