Warner Brothers are suing against AI Startup Mid Journey for copyright violations

As the first as reported ReutersWarner Broce says that mid -journey is deliberately involved in the behavior, noting that the company has previously imposed a ban on creating materials based on images of customers, but recently lifted these protection.

The complaint states, “Midjorni has made a calculation and profit-driven decision to provide zero protection for the copyright owners even though Midjorn knows about its pirate and breathing opportunities for copyright violations,” it is alleged.

The case tries to stop for an unprecedented loss, the return of any profit that is acquired from the alleged violation and further violations.

Warner Bros. ‘The case follows one similar in June Universal against Walt Disney and Midjorni For copyright violations associated with characters like Dareth Vadar, Bert Simpson, Shrek and others. In this case, mid -journey has argued that generator AI models are legal under the doctrine of the US copyright law that used these tasks to train.

Mid Journey did not respond to TechCrunch’s request for comments.
