Trump hoped to make a deal to stop Tehran, which developed a nuclear weapon. Iran has long insisted that his nuclear activities were calm.
Earlier this week, Trump reported that he had had a “tense” telephone conversation with Netanyahu, who has long been arguing about a military, not a diplomatic approach to Iran’s nuclear capabilities.
