WhatsApp is adding ads to the Status screen

A few years after the free service supply without any bell attached, WhatsApp will now start showing ads in the popular chat app. Obviously, users will only see ads on the status screen – the application will be accepted in Instagram stories.

Meta says it is not using personally identified data such as users’ phone numbers, messages, calls and groups are not using to serve target ads. If a user has added their WhatsApp account to Meta Account Center, the company will use their account preferences to show ads.

The agency says it is allowing companies and users to promote their channels, WhatsApp broadcast features, invention category, and will allow it to charge a subscription to unlock exclusive updates on the selected creators and businessmen channels.
