White House defends Robert u Kennedy, Jr. against the background of CDC Turmoil

The White House defends Health Secretary Robert F Kennedy, Jr., after a chaotic week at US Centers for Disease Control (CDC), which led to calls for its elimination.

On Friday, the Deputy Chief of White House Staff Stephen Miller called Kennedy, also known as the RFK JR, “the jewelry crown of this administration.”

Earlier this week, CDC chief Dr. Susan Monres was fired as it was “not brought in line with the president’s agenda,” the White House said in a statement and was replaced by RFK JR O’Neal.

At least three senior CDC leaders have since been reconciled because of the dissatisfaction with Kennedy’s leadership and vaccine policy. The inconvenience led to some legislators who called for his resignation.

Miller called Kennedy “one of the most important votes, defenders and experts in the world” and said he was working hard to restore the credibility and integrity of CDC, which is one of the largest public health authorities in the world.

Kennedy does not have a medical degree and had experience in his right before Trump knocked him down to lead the Ministry of Health and Human Services (HHS). The department monitors various health agencies in the United States, including CDC.

BBC turned to HHS and Kennedy representatives.

Recent turmoil follows CDC constantly dismisses 600 employees Earlier this month, according to an union representing the workers.

Wide cuts include employees working on the government’s reaction to infectious diseases, including bird flu, as well as those who examine environmental hazards and process public records for information.

After taking office, Kennedy, a vaccine critic, made a number of reductions in funding and changes in how the United States recommends and regulate immunizations that angered public health experts.

Previously, he helped manage the anti-vaxine group and repeatedly states widely debuted allegations of damage to the vaccine.

Former CDC CEO D -R Debra Harry, one of the employees who resigned this week, told BBC Newshour radio programs that Kennedy’s policies have no scientific integrity.

“I am extremely worried that with constant resignations, termination, retirement, all because of what happens through some of these policies, that we will not have the ability to continue to do good science, to respond to a hearth and to prevent chronic illnesses,” she said.

She added that the highest result of Kennedy’s policies is the interruption of a children’s vaccine schedule, which can lead to the spread of “preventive diseases in the United States again, such as polio and measles.”

Several Democrat senators have called for Kennedy’s resignation, including Georgia John Osof – who called the Charlatan Health Secretary – and the leader of Senate’s minorities Chuck Sumer.

“Donald Trump knew that Robert F. Kennedy, Jr., would be a catastrophic choice for health care in America, and he nominated it anyway. Donald Trump made this mistake and now he should immediately fire RFK,” Sumer said in a written statement.

Several Republicans have also expressed concern about the CDC’s development, with Maine Susan Collins saying that there is no basis for removing a monastery from her position. She asked for a hearing at the Congress to explore what was happening at the agency.

College Republican Senator Bill Cassidi, who heads the Committee on Health, Education, Labor and Pensions in the Senate – which checks Kennedy’s appointment – said the group would supervise the deviations of high profiles.

He too called a delay At a hearing of the Vaccine Advisory Committee, scheduled for the next month, saying that there were allegations that the group did not have a “scientific process”.

“If the meeting continues, all recommendations made should be rejected as a lack of legitimacy, given the severity of the accusations and the current turmoil in the CDC leadership,” he said.

Robert F Kennedy, Jr., wrote an open letter to CDC employees after removing Monarez and leaving several senior officials, according to US media.

“I am committed to working with you to restore the trust, transparency and credibility of CDC. Your daily efforts – often unprecedented – have fun with life,” he writes.

“The reform does not reduce your work; it strengthens it. The American people are ready to believe in this agency again if we show them that integrity, accountability and science lead every decision,” Kennedy added.

Health secretary also said he wanted to restore CDC to America’s Health and Security Guardian.
