Why Mexico received a tariff recovery … and Canada didn’t

The United States has announced fresh tariffs for more than 90 countries after reaching the deadline imposed by President Donald Trump for countries to achieve commercial deals.

For example, the tariffs for Canada should increase from 25% to 35%, although most Canadian goods are released. Meanwhile, the higher rates for Mexico have been paused for another 90 days.

Michel Flules from the BBC explain why Mexico achieved a deal – at least temporarily – until Canada got a stroke.
