Brazilian authorities say they investigate river pollution levels after a truck incident caused a chemical dye in Sao Paulo.

The leakage took place after a vehicle carrying containers with a blue dye collided with a pillar, resulting in a spill of the product into a shaft connected to the Jundiai River.

City authorities say they are acting to save and rescue the life of the affected animals.

The dye is an organic chemical based on acetic acid – used in styrofoam boxes and egg boxes.
