At least two people were killed and hundreds of evacuated their homes as wild fires were raging in South Korea on Saturday.
Two firefighters were found dead in Sancheng County in the southeastern part of the country, according to Yonhap news agency, citing local officials.
The other two were reported to have disappeared as many fires erupted across the country, according to the Korea Forest Service.
The state of national disaster was announced at 18:00 local time (09:00 GMT), covering the city of Ulsan and the provinces of North and Southern Gyeongsang in the southeast.
More than 200 residents have been ordered to leave their homes in eight villages because of the deadly fire in Sancheon County in South Gionsang.
The position of President Choi Sang-Mock has called on all efforts to quench the flame from sunset, but the strong winds make it difficult for the scene of about 250 kilometers (155 miles) southeast of Seoul.
Elsewhere, more than 400 inhabitants have been displaced due to a fire in Usseng County in the province of North Gionsang.
The Forest Service has issued a serious fire warning in 12 places, including Busan and the central Dyon.
