The platform says that the update was better integrated with the way the trending material was discovered today, noting that when the trending page was launched in 2015, it was much easier to capture viral videos that everyone was talking to a single list.

Viewers can browse non-personalized materials through the exploration menu, the Creator Channel and their subscription feed.
YouTube says it is changing because the trends are transformed by different videos made by different fans, which leads to more micro-trands than ever before.
Also, YouTube notes that visitors are looking for trends through various places on the platform with recommendations, search and comments. In the past, people discovered trending tabs to visit the trending tab, but now they are being fed through their personalized algorithmic recommendations.
